The Founder

Jennifer Brown, born in 1985 and raised in Warrington, England, is the founder of equestrian lifestyle brand Williams & Brown. Established in 2021, the brand name pays tribute to her parents, Karen Williams and Denis Brown.

Jennifer’s equestrian journey began after her mother, Karen, fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning a horse at the age of 40, an experience that soon sparked Jennifer’s own passion for riding. While focusing on building her career, Jennifer joined Network Rail at 18 and went on to become one of the first female Controllers in Manchester. Yet, her love for horses remained strong, and she later purchased her PRE gelding, Sambuco, marking the beginning of her studies in classical dressage.

Her distinctive sense of equestrian style evolved over time, shaped by the elegance of Spanish and Portuguese riders and the influence of major fashion houses. At 30, Jennifer relocated to West Yorkshire with her partner and purchased a former textile water mill, now undergoing restoration and serving as the headquarters of Williams & Brown.

Driven by a deep respect for horses, Jennifer believes strongly in the responsibility of brands to represent ethical and fair riding practices. Her passion for equine welfare is at the heart of the brand’s identity, with thoughtful imagery and messaging that reflect kindness, integrity, and timeless style.
